SPEECH PATHOLOGY
With over 15 years of experience in neurology, general medical and head and neck cancer in acute (including ICU/ED), rehabilitation and specialist clinics, Ellie’s extensive experience includes:
- advanced practice in Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
- stroke/neurology (having close collaboration with local Neurologists)
- voice and upper airway dysfunction (dysphonia, chronic cough/vocal cord dysfunction/irritable larynx)
- altered airways (tracheostomy/laryngectomy)
Ellie has been working with ENT’s, Neurologists and Respiratory Physicians for many years, and continues to work at hospitals in Ballarat and Melbourne. She is a clinical educator and lecturer in Speech Pathology at Federation University.
Ellie is providing assessment and blocks of therapy with no current waiting list.
Common accepted referrals may be for:
- Dysphagia – assessment and investigation of swallowing whilst awaiting neurology/ENT consultation
- Offering advanced instrumental assessment using nasendoscopy (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing – FEES). This includes ENT consultation, report, recommendations, therapy plan and on-referrals if required.
Voice therapy/education, including upper airway dysfunction vocal cord dysfunction/post Covid-19 support in voice/cough
Post stroke assessment/therapy/education in dysphagia, dysphonia, aphasia
